The Williams Route 66 Marathon is a truly unique running experience that showcases the best of what Tulsa, Oklahoma has to offer. Although many runners may not think of Tulsa as their first choice for a destination race, we can assure you that there is no better time to be had than partying (and running) your way down the historic Route 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma!
The marathon course starts in downtown Tulsa, home of the largest concentration of Art Deco architecture outside of Miami. Downtown Tulsa has undergone a stunning transformation in the past decade and is a bustling, vibrant full of world-class bars, restaurants, and stores.

The block parties put on by spectators were awesome.. BUT the volunteers/people who put together the race (especially the ones waiting at the end)were second to none. They made you feel like you were the most important person and that this was the most amazing thing you just did. So thankful!
The course is great fun – challenging but not overwhelming and very diverse. I love the fact that the 5K and Half / Full are on different days. The more races I can fit in a weekend the better.
The community! First time I have run a race where at mile 2 I was offered a shot of fireball. I've been to several races and this one by far had the best crowds. They make it a party and it shows. The confetti at the start of the race for each corral was cool too.
It was a fun party atmosphere, the people in the neighborhoods cheering us on an offering us stuff was awesome! Best race I have ever participated in!
