#MondayMotivation: Ok, raise your hand if self-quarantine is seriously messing up your workout routine! Whether you're struggling to find childcare for the kiddos, are missing all your running buddies, or can't seem to find a new routine, everyone is trying to navigate a new normal. You don't have to make fitness your number one priority during a global pandemic, but getting out the door (safely!) will probably help boost your spirits. Let's all encourage each other this week! None of us can rid the world of coronavirus on our own, but we can all do something to help! This week, the Williams Route 66 Marathon was honored to donate 8 pallets of non-perishable food and beverages from the 2019 event to the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. The food and drinks will be used to create "disaster packs" for the Hunger Free Oklahoma initiative, which is dedicated to ending food insecurity in Oklahoma. With many Oklahomans laid off and unsure of where their next meal is coming from, these disaster packs will help ease their burden. Thank you to Jeff Marlowe @chefjeffcaters of the @okfoodbank for giving us the opportunity to help!

#WednesdayWisdom There's a lot of uncertainty in the world right now, but one thing you can do to help stay sane while still #socialdistancing is schedule a virtual run with your running buddies. Pick a set distance, set time, and maybe even a specific podcast or playlist to listen to while you run. Then, when you get back, schedule a group FaceTime session to catch up on how your run went! You'll get some accountability and a little social interaction to boot while still saying safe. And of course tacos. #RT66Run

We’re up against our toughest rival yet, and one of our favorite races, The Cowtown, in what may be the only Red River rivalry we see for a while (although we certainly hope not). Sure, we'd all rather be watching March Madness right now and moving forward with our spring race plans, but desperate times call for desperate measures. This round, we're up against one of our closest race friends and neighbors, the Little Rock Marathon. 🔸️Je viens courir pendant près de 7heures sur mon balcon de 7 mètres de long et 1metre de large. (Vous avez été nombreux à calculer,à peu près 6000 A/R)
J'avais la possibilité de sortir pour courir autour de la maison,mais si tout le monde pense pareil on aurait été nombreux dehors...
Mon travail a été reconnu d'inutilité public,donc le meilleur moyen de ne pas se laisser abattre c'est de faire du sport.
🔸️La consigne était de rester à la maison,c'est ce que j'ai fait. Juste pour vous montrer qu'on a pas d'excuses,et s'il vous plaît penser à toutes ces aides soignants qui sont en première ligne face à ce virus 🙏🙏❤
J'écris à chaud après avoir tourner pendant 7h sur mon balcon...tout se mélange dans ma tête et j'ai envie de vomir hahaha...

𝗔 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻⁣
We are all facing uncertainty and challenge as the ongoing COVID-19 situation evolves. You, the runners and volunteers, are why we do what we do here in Tulsa every year. Now, more than ever, our running communities need to pull together to help each other, and to help keep each other safe. ⁣
The Williams Route 66 Marathon is scheduled for November 21-22, 2020 in Tulsa. We continue to monitor the situation, but have no plans at this time to change the scheduled race or race activities. That said, we always take the health and wellbeing of our volunteers, runners and team members seriously; this year will be no different. Should the situation as we move through the next few months require changes, we will communicate them promptly and thoroughly, and we look forward to seeing you in November here in Tulsa. ⁣
In the meantime, please follow the guidance from the CDC:⁣
- Practice frequent and thorough hand washing ⁣
- Practice social distancing, including staying home if you’re exhibiting any flu-like symptoms ⁣
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick⁣
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth⁣
- Stay safe and healthy! ⁣
