Race Information

The 2019 Williams Route 66 Marathon events are held over the course of two days. Saturday races include the 5k run and walk, the one-mile Fun Run and walk, and the Mascot Dash. While the 5k run and walk is USATF certified and will be electronically timed, the Fun Run and walk is just for fun, meaning there will be no timing or certification. Come out and enjoy both events!

Packet Pickup

There will be NO race day registration or packet pickup. All participants in our Saturday races must pick up their packets on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Health, Fitness, and Sustainability Expo, held at the Cox Business Center 100 Civic Center Tulsa, OK 74103 Friday  from 11 am – 7 pm and Saturday 9:30 – 6:00 pm

Start and Finish Line Information

We are excited to announce brand new 5k and Fun Run courses for 2018! Both the 5k and Fun Run start and finish on Cameron Street, north of Guthrie Green. Please plan to arrive early to familiarize yourself with the start and finish areas.

All participants must enter the start corral from the intersection of Detroit and Cameron. There is only one corral for the 5k and Fun Run events, so please seed yourself appropriately based on your expected pace (i.e. fastest runners in the front, walkers in the back).

Ample parking is available on the streets surrounding Guthrie Green and in paid parking lots in downtown Tulsa. Please refer to the parking map for more information.

Porta-potties will be located throughout the Tulsa Arts District (the start/finish line area) and along the 5k course. Please refer to the Tulsa Arts District Map for Saturday for exact locations. We know you’ve gotta go when you’ve gotta go, but please be patient and allow plenty of time to use the restroom prior to the race. There are likely to be lines on race morning.

Race-day Information Tent

Lose your timing tag, forget your race number, or just need some help with morning logistics? Head to the information tent. Please see the Tulsa Arts District Map for Saturday for the exact location.

Gear Check

There will be no gear check for Saturday races.

Timing Chip

A timing device is attached to your race number/bib. The bib is yours to keep, and there’s no need to turn your device back in. In order to make sure your time is accurately recorded, please make sure you follow these guidelines:

  • Do not remove the tag from the bib.
  • Wear the bib visibly on the front of your body – if you’re wearing a top layer that you may take off, consider pinning the bib to your pants/shorts!
  • Do not fold or crumple the bib.
  • Cross all timing mats during the race.

Your Race Number

Your race number must be worn on the front of your body! If you are wearing a top layer that you may remove, consider pinning the number to your pants or shorts.  Race officials, course photographers, and finish line personnel must be able to see your bib at all times to verify that you are an official participant, so please make sure it is visible! Do not cut, fold, or otherwise alter your race number in any way. For safety reasons, race numbers are non-transferable and may only be worn by the participants to whom they are assigned.  Please fill out the medical information on the back of your bib in case of emergency.

Gatorade Stations

The Williams Route 66 Marathon knows hydration is extremely important on race day. That’s why we are proud to serve both Gatorade and water at all Gatorade stations on our courses. One Gatorade stop, located after the 3-kilometer mark between Boston Avenue and Main Street, is provided for the 5k participants. No Gatorade stops are offered during the one-mile Fun Run.

Course Restrictions

No bicycles, roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, baby joggers or animals will be allowed on the race course at any time. Assistance received from any source other than a race official may result in disqualification. In some areas, only one side of the road will be closed to vehicular traffic. As such, it is imperative that you stay within the cones marking the course. Any deviations from the marked course could result in disqualification and a serious injury. Race officials will be stationed along the course to ensure that each finisher has completed a full race distance.

Dropping Out

If you are unable to finish the race, please notify a volunteer at the nearest aid station.

Medical Aid

Medical aid will be provided on the course and at the finish line. Medical aid stations will be clearly marked along the course. Medical personnel will also travel the course in golf carts to look for participants in distress.

Your personal safety is very important. In order to help us come to your aid as quickly as possible, all participants are required to complete the emergency information on the back of their race number and list any allergies or known medical issues for medical personnel. Help us keep you safe on race day!

Finishers’ Food and Beverage Area

Participants will pass through the finishers’ food area after crossing the finish line and receiving their medals. Fruit, snacks, Gatorade, water, Muscle Milk, and Pepsi products will be provided. Snacks and refreshments are for participants only. Participants will not be able to re-enter the food area once they leave.

All results are unofficial until certified by race officials. Participants can check their unofficial results on the mobile app and at the Results Tent (see the Tulsa Arts District Map for Saturday for location). Unofficial results will also be posted online at as the race progresses.  Race officials will post final results online following certification. Participants and their friends and families can also follow participants’ progress and receive updates via the Williams Route 66 Marathon mobile app.

Collecting Your Award

Lost or stolen awards will not be replaced, so please keep your eye on your mailbox, and be patient! We personalize them all to make them extra special, and we’ll have them to you as soon as we can.

Participants are eligible for one award per race. Award winners in the Open and Masters divisions will be excluded from the age group and weight class awards.
