OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM ROUTE 66 MARATHON REGARDING HYATT FIRE

The Williams Route 66 Marathon was informed on Friday, November 16, 2018, of a fire at the Hyatt, which is one of the host hotels for the marathon. The hotel has been evacuated to ensure safety of all occupants. We understand the inconvenience, frustration, and stress that this situation has caused our participants that were supposed to stay at the hotel this weekend. The Williams Route 66 Marathon is working closely with the Hyatt to ensure that all of our participants are accommodated and that race weekend is as stress-free as possible given the circumstances. Please see below for important information regarding race day transportation.

 

Individuals Displaced to Muskogee and Bartlesville: Shuttles will pick up from your hotel at 6 a.m. and will arrive in Tulsa by 7 a.m. All shuttles will drop participants off at the Hyatt. At the Hyatt, please show your bib and you will receive a VIP wristband for the Mother Road VIP package. Participants who need to leave directly from the race will be able to store their luggage at the Hyatt during race day, so please bring it with you if this applies to you. Participants who drove in from out of town and have been displaced will be able to park at the Hyatt for free on race morning. A welcome station with beverages and refreshments will be set up at the Hyatt on race morning. Following the race, a refreshment station at the Hyatt will also be available. Shuttles will also be available to take participants back to Muskogee and/or Bartlesville from the Hyatt after the race if they choose. Displaced participants who need to shower after the race can show their VIP wristband and shower at the YMCA located at 418 S. Main Street from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Individuals Displaced to Other Hotels/Cities: Hyatt is working to schedule shuttles for the remaining hotels. Please call the Hyatt main number at (918) 582-9000 for information on shuttle times for your hotel. All shuttles will drop off at the Hyatt. At the Hyatt, please show your bib and you will receive a VIP wristband for the Mother Road VIP package.
