The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Corporate Challenge at the Williams Route 66 Marathon is a great opportunity for organizations of all sizes to promote workplace wellness, support a charity and build teamwork across departments and within your organization! Organizations are divided in to six divisions based on the total number of employees in the organization. The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Corporate Challenge at the Williams Route 66 Marathon is an easy way to get your coworkers active and have fun. Receive everything needed to train to run or walk in any of the Williams Route 66 Marathon events while raising funds online in the Williams Route 66 Marathon Charity Program.

There is no entry fee for teams competing in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Corporate Challenge at the Williams Route 66 Marathon, however, to encourage employee participation, organizations are required to pay at least 50% of their employees registration fees. The Williams Route 66 Marathon will provide your company with a unique traceable coupon code for your employees to use when they register for the Williams Route 66 Marathon.

 

 

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup is awarded to the team from each division with the most combined points from each of the three scoring criteria in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Corporate Challenge at the Williams Route 66 Marathon.

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup will be presented annually by representatives of the Williams Route 66 Marathon and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma to the winner of each division at a ceremony at their corporate office. The cup is perpetual and will remain at the offices of the winning team until the week of the marathon the following year.

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup is finely crafted award suitable for display in a reception area or conference room representing the winning organizations commitment to excellence, the health and wellness of its employees and to their community.

 

Corporate Challenge Teams must register online before October 31, 2015.

Corporate Challenge Charity Challenge fundraising pages must be setup by November 20, 2015.

All team members must register for their races online before November 8, 2015.

Team Captains must approve final team rosters before November 15, 2015.

Corporate Challenge Charity Challenge fundraising deadline is November 22, 2015.

Team Captains must turn in their scoring sheets November 23, 2015.

 

Teams will compete against other organizations in their division. There are five divisions based on the number of employees in the state of Oklahoma.

  • 50-99 Employees
  • 100-249 Employees
  • 250-499 Employees
  • 500-999 Employees
  • Over 1,000 Employees

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup Scoring

Teams will receive points for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup based equally on participation, performance and fundraising. The top three teams in each category of the Corporate Challenge will receive points in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup competition based on the following table.

Teams will compete with the other teams in their division in three categories.

Participation

Teams will receive participation credits for each participant that finishes an event in the Williams Route 66 Marathon based on the following table. The three teams in each division with the most participation participation credits will receive an award and points towards the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup. Any ties will be broken based on their place in the team fundraising category.

Performance

Teams will receive performance credits for each participant that finishes in the top three of their corporate challenge division in an event in the Williams Route 66 Marathon based on the following table.

Points will be awarded for both male and female divisions in the individual races and male, female and mixed divisions in the marathon relay.

The corporate challenge divisions are separate and independent of the other marathon divisions and all participants in the corporate divisions are eligible for awards in the standard divisions.

The three teams in each division with the most performance credits will receive an award and points towards the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup. Any ties will be broken based on their place in the team fundraising category.

Fundraising

The three teams in each division that raise the most money in the Williams Route 66 Marathon Charity Fundraising Program will receive an award and points towards the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Cup.  Any ties will be broken based by a best two ot of three rock, paper, scissors competition between the team captains.

Official Charities

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Corporate Challenge at the Williams Route 66 Marathon could not happen without the hard work of the team captains. We want to recognize your efforts and reward you for the time you put in building your team. Team captains will receive a running jacket and an invitation for themselves and a guest to attend the Williams Route 66 Marathon VIP Party on Saturday night before the marathon. Come to enjoy great food, drinks and meet other captains, sponsors and friends of the Williams Route 66 Marathon.

Team Captain Responsibilities

  • Create a team using the event online team registration.
  • Create and administer your teams fundraising site.
  • Ensure all team participants are individually registered and have paid their individual registration fee.
    • Online registration is available at route66marathon.com
    • Team captains must register and include themselves on the team roster if they are participating.
  • Act as the contact person for all team members and as the liaison to the Williams Route 66 Marathon leading up to and after race day.
    • Advise team members that running under someone else’s bib number/registration is not allowed, switching of team member’s names is not possible.
    • Individual registrants should verify their registration at the event Registration Confirmation.
    • Team members are responsible for picking up their own race packets.
    • Distribute VIP Passes
  • Ensure all team participants are employees of company.
    • Spouses, friends and family are not to join the team if they are not employed by company.
    • Retired employees are eligible to participate in your Corporate Challenge team.
  • Manage team rosters online
  • Submit final team score sheet to the Corporate Challenge Director
