Road Closure Information

The 13th Annual Williams Route 66 Marathon will feature two days of great running and walking events for the entire family.

On November 17-18, 2018, Over 12,000 participants from around the world will be racing through the streets of Tulsa, as they make their way to the finish line. We encourage you to become part of this city-wide event and join the spectators in cheering for the participants.

The estimated economic impact of the 2018 Williams Route 66 Marathon is over $7.5Million. Our organization pays the City of Tulsa for all police and public works labor, materials, and overtime required for the Williams Route 66 Marathon.

The Williams Route 66 Marathon will also raise $75,000 to the following charities.

Homeowners and businesses along the course are encouraged to invite their friends, neighbors and customers over for a watch party during the races. If you’d like to receive one of our limited block party kits, please fill out the request form here.

Starting Times and Locations

The 5K and Fun Run will be run on Saturday, November 17, 2018

The 5K and Fun Run start and finish at the Guthrie Green in the Brady .Arts District.

The 5K Run and Walk starts at 8:00 a.m.

The Fun Run and Walk starts at 9:00a.m.

The Mascot Dash starts at 9:30 a.m.

The Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay will be run on Sunday, November 18, 2018.

The Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay start at 7th and Main and finish at the Guthrie Green in the Brady Arts District.

All Sunday races start at 8:00 a.m.

Road Closing Times

Roads will close to traffic approximately one hour before the first participant and will re-open approximately half an hour after the last participant.

Parking and Street Closures

Saturday, November 17, 2018 (5K, Fun Run, and Mascot Dash)

No Parking Zones along the course will be enforced beginning at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17. Street closures along the course will occur between 6:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. City streets will re-open as quickly as possible as the final runners pass through. The roads will all reopen around 10:30 a.m. The Tulsa Police Department will be responsible for closing and re-opening streets, they will do so in a manner ensuring participant and spectator safety. Please follow their instructions when approaching streets on the course. Do not attempt to block the race course at any time.

Sunday, November 18, 2018 (Marathon, Half Marathon, and Marathon Relay)

Towed Vehicle Information

The towing of vehicles along the course and other posted No Parking Zones will be enforced from 1:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, and from 1:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November, 18. Vehicles will be towed to the closest location available that is off the marathon course. Please call Allied Towing of Tulsa (918) 438-0288 if your vehicle has been towed and they will give you the location of your vehicle.

Course Crossings

Police Officers will be stationed at signal lights along the course and will allow traffic to pass when it will not interfere with the marathon participants. The safety of the participants, volunteers, and spectators will be the top priority of the Officers. Motorist can expect average delays of at least 15 minutes at all course crossing points.
