2016 Route 66 Marathon Mobile App

The Route 66 Marathon offers free live athlete tracking via the “It’s Your Race” mobile app available for iPhone and Android!

FOR ATHLETES:

  • Download the ITS YOUR RACE app on the Apple app store or Google Play store.  Simply search for “ITS YOUR RACE” in either store.  Once you have the app, search for your event name to access the full app for your event.
  • If you plan to have spectators following you…The mobile app includes the full course maps with mile markers along the route.  BEFORE RUNNING THE RACE, an athlete should download the app, go into their event and click on the ATHLETES feature.  Then, they need to look up their EVENT and search for their last name (and city and state, if necessary).  CLAIM yourself once you find your registration and put in your ESTIMATED FINISH TIME.  This will allow spectators to track you from the START to the FIRST SPLIT.  The app will only use the pace of your estimated finish time up until the first actual timing point.  Once we have real timing data, we adjust your pace and position along the course map to show spectators where you actually are.  If you do not put in an estimated finish time, we default to a 10minute pace from the start to the first split point.
  • Next, if you wish to have LIVE ATHLETE UPDATES pushed to your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts while you are running, connect your account on the athlete page as well (see graphic below).  As you are running the race, ITS YOUR RACE is receiving your start time, split times along the course and your final results live.  We will automatically post all timing data to Facebook and Twitter if you connect your account, so be sure to ALLOW the app to do so.  We will NOT post anything except your times!  (Note: Only one athlete can be claimed per phone, so you cannot post multiple athlete’s splits and finish times to your accounts).

For Spectators:

  • Download the ITS YOUR RACE app on the Apple app store or Google Play store.  Simply search for “ITS YOUR RACE” in either store.  Once you have the app, search for your event name to access the full app for your event.
  • Once inside the full app for your event, go to the TRACKING Section
  • Search for your athlete’s name and select the athlete you wish to track.  Check the FAVORITE box in the bottom right corner so you can return to their tracking page without looking them up again.

On race day, when IYR receives the gun time of the start of the race, all athletes will begin the race at the pace of their ESTIMATED FINISH TIME along the course route.  Once we receive the runner’s CHIP START TIME, we will adjust the location on the map as necessary.  Then, when an athlete crosses any timing point along the course, we display the ACTUAL PACE that the athlete is running and update the position along the course.
