It’s the perfect season to purchase Halloween bite-size candies – just the right size to run with. Aim for candies that don’t melt against your body or in the current outdoor temperature. Pay Day bite-sized candy bars are a perfect example and provide sodium, carb, and protein. Also consider small treats like candy corn, Dots and Hot Tamales, which break the monotony of always eating carb gels, carb chews, or electrolyte jelly beans. These candies are not intended to replace your carb sources but just to give you a treat during your long training runs while still providing carbs that your body can use.
