Bike check provides added convenience on race day

Concerned about finding a parking space race-day morning or looking for an easy way to warm up your muscles before crossing the start line?

The Williams Route 66 Marathon is once again teaming up with Lee’s Bikes to provide a free bike check on Saturday and Sunday at Veteran’s Park during the weekend events.  The free and secure bike check area will provide valet bike parking from 7 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday, allowing time for participants to check their bike before lining up at the start line.  A VIP shuttle will be available on Sunday to bus riders to the start line.

“Not only are you saving money, reducing frustration and not contributing to the deluge of traffic, but you’ll be burning off calories at the same time,” said Jason Kearney, Lee’s Bikes representative. “If you’re participating in the marathon, cycling to the start will give you your warm up.”

Once you’ve crossed the finish line at Veteran’s Park and enjoyed the finish line festivities, simply retrieve your bike from the bike check to return home or to your car.

“People’s primary concern when commuting by bicycle is security,” said Kearney. “Lee’s has you covered. We will be providing valet parking for your bike on the day of the event. No excuses now!”
