Health & Fitness Expo to feature health screenings

The 2010 Williams Route 66 Marathon Health & Fitness Expo, presented by St. John Health System, will host more than 50 exhibitors featuring running gear and shoes, as well as sports and fitness related items. Various health and fitness screenings will also be offered at the Expo, and are free to both the public and race participants.

Thanks to Abbott Diabetes Care, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma and St. John Medical Center, health professionals will be present to test blood pressure, total cholesterol (including HDL and LDL) triglycerides and blood sugar.

Fitness screenings will also be offered, and will include body mass index, waist circumference and flexibility assessments. These fitness screenings are courtesy of St. John Medical Center and YMCA. Boehringer Ingelheim will also offer lung function screenings.

Children’s flu shots, offered by the Oklahoma Caring Foundation, will be available on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. These free flu shots are open to individuals age 18 years and under.

The two-day Expo, held at the Tulsa Convention Center, is free and open to the public. The Health and Fitness Expo is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20.
